“poly-sinc-mqa(-lp) is a slow roll-off filter that fits well also for unfolded MQA, if you like “MQA’ish” filter. It is apodizing one, so you get the “deblur” functionality too. minringFIR is non-apodizing alternative.

The intermediate poly-sinc-short and the steeper alternatives work fine too, being vastly different from the MQA-style filters. So you can listen and choose what you prefer…”

Quindi per lui il rendering altro non è che un upsampling. Lo fa in stile MQA con i filtri MQA altrimenti è HQPlayer che lavora sul file nativo…. In effetti quando applico i filtri 1x o Nx su file MQA mi sembra che applichi sempre il primo anche su MQA in Hi-Res. Devo guardare meglio…. Per abitudine se ho la versione Hi-Res su Qobuz vado su quella.

Lo deduco da questa cosa che non fa il render. Del resto quando arriva al dac è già in un altro formato per l’upsampling. E così abbiamo risolto tutti i segreti di Tidal 😳

Non esattamente. HQPlayer non supporta MQA. Quindi, vede il file soltanto con la sua risoluzione di partenza: 16/44 o 16/48; poi, l utente può applicare il filtro di upsampling che preferisce, tra cui uno simile a quello MQA vero e proprio, ma lo "scompattamento" non viene effettuato.

L’ho detta male, ma in effetti avevo capito così come hai scritto. In effetti, parte sempre dal file nativo. Da valutare nel mio caso se far fare lo spacchettamento MQA a Roon.

Se hai Roon per gestire la libreria, io lascerei fare lo spacchettamento a Roon, ma continuerei ad applicare l upsampling alla risoluzione preferita da HQPlayer - ad es. 1x-spacc. Roon 2x -4x/8x o DSD HQP. Comunque, farei anche il confronto con solo upsampling di HQP.

On Monday, February 28, Roon will be updated to take advantage of the advanced features offered in HQPlayer 4.x. Updating our implementation to support the HQPlayer 4 API will help to resolve a number of issues that our customers have been reporting.

What should you do?

In conjunction with Signalyst we have worked to improve the overall user experience in Roon’s HQ Player integration. As such, version 4.16.2+ of HQ Player will be required once the release has been deployed on Monday.

If you’re not yet updated to HQPlayer 4.16.2 or later, you can download it from the Signalyst website. If you run into any trouble upgrading, contact Signalyst at info@signalyst.com.

No, you won’t be able to use HQPlayer 3.x, the minimum required version will be 4.16.2

.

 

There are quality issues with our current integration that cannot be addressed in the context of 3.x, because Signalyst does not plan to back-port the bits required to fix them to the 3.x API.

There are deep enough changes involved in moving to v4 API and addressing these issues that it is impractical for us to support both side-by-side. This would also put us in a position of supporting configurations that we know are broken, which is the whole thing we are trying to fix by doing work on our HQPlayer support.

We are not going to be supporting earlier versions of HQPlayer 4.x for the same reason–they have known issues that make the experience of using the integration less smooth, and we cannot be in a position of supporting broken integrations.

Sarebbe interessante sapere da Miska/Jussi cosa significa per l'utente finale il supporto a v4 API, cioè quest'aumentata comunicazione tra Roon e HQPlayer.

A: (Jussi) For example v4 introduced better playback position reporting and better ways to control and queue playback items. v4 also brought new things like automatic discovery of HQPlayer IP address, which is especially useful when HQPlayer is behind a device that gets address through DHCP and thus the IP can change across reboots.

Non scaricate/installate  … la riproduzione DSD/DoP non funziona.

È in arrivo la rel. 4.30.2 per risolvere il problema
