ecco la sintesi dell'apertura su Absolute Sound.. anno domíni 2025... praticamente 70 anni (!) dopo la progettazione del 301..

In 1954 the Garrard Engineering and Manufacturing Company of England introduced the 301 transcription turntable, idler driven by a very powerful high-torque motor and widely regarded as the best turntable you could buy at the time and for some years after. Able to play 33⅓, 45, and 78rpm, it was intended for the professional market (notably the British Broadcasting Corporation). Owing to a number of factors, idler drives were replaced by putatively quieter belt drives, and Garrard soon stopped manufacturing turntables altogether. Yet many audiophiles in the UK stubbornly clung to their 301s, Japanese audiophiles began buying up second-hand 301s in droves, and U.S. audiophiles soon joined their number. Before long, a whole cottage industry grew up around meticulously restored and refurbished 301s, which had become the iconic vintage turntable. Why? The sound, stupid! This turntable is capable of such spectacular momentum, timing, vitality, detail, dimensionality, dynamic range, and rock-solid stability that for me it swept before it virtually every turntable with which I’ve had long experience. I purchased mine from the UK-based Audio Grail. The price listed is for only the motor unit itself, including platter and plinth. You supply a base (or have one custom built) and of course tonearm and phono pickup. Once you do, you have a record-playing setup that is all but peerlessly addictive in its total engagement, emotional involvement*, and nearly physical connectedness to the music. My current reference.

Cos'altro aggiungere? Se non che produrre oggi un 301 avrebbe un costo esorbitante, altro che chassis ultralight.. alla Naia.

*  che siano proprio queste le qualita che mancano al Naia?

Arriva a malapena ai primi solchi, e con un angolo di 90° rispetto alla tangente del punto più vicino al braccio stesso.

Infatti sul tuo la base del braccio è molto più vicina al piatto.

se si pensa ad un ‘’trapianto’’ forse meglio quello acoustic signature:

@max non lo fanno più hanno implementato il DTD Dura Turn Diamond che riduce il rumore del predecessore e praticamente indistruttibile.

@redpepper per quello esistono pure i perni ad aria, con cuscinetto assiale e verticale contact-less e friction-less, come sul mio Versa.. ma i componenti che compongono il suono di un giradischi sono davvero tanti, troppi, per permettere teorie unificanti.

Certi gira”suonano”, altri no… e se la ricetta fosse così semplice, tutti i costruttori farebbero giradischi uguali.
