I CD del Trio, le banali edizioni anche in offerta, per me hanno ottime incisioni.

Non ho provveduto e non provvederò affatto. Ho Portrait in Jazz and Explorations edizione AP doppi 45 e me li farò bastare. Gli alternate takes forse li ascolterò in streaming.

Qua spiega bene perché i vecchi dischetti coi master tipo quelli presi da AP e soci sono un pallido e sbiadito tentativo di fare suonare roba ahimè spenta e smunta da decenni 

 

Per fortuna la tecnologia procede

Capturing the data: An analog tape is played back on a system with high-fidelity, wide-band playback heads and superior mechanical transports. This allows the system to recover not only the audio but also the original high-frequency bias tone that was recorded onto the tape.

Digitizing: The entire wide-band signal, including both the audio and the bias tone, is converted to a digital format.

Analyzing the bias tone: The system analyzes the digitized bias tone, which is an FM (frequency modulation) signal, to determine its intended base frequency. Any deviation from this stable frequency is a direct measurement of the time-domain errors, or mechanical inconsistencies, introduced by the original tape transport.

Correcting the audio: The recovered bias waveform is used as a time base for a digital servo that generates an "error signal". This error signal is then used to digitally correct the audio-band information, stabilizing the pitch and speed and removing wow and flutter. The result is a much cleaner reproduction of the original recording.

Application: Plangent Processes is used by professionals for archiving, remastering, and restoring historical audio from analog tapes,

In sostanza fanno le stesse identiche cose di qualunque "studio" che crea un master da vecchi nastri...

secondo me, hai fatto male ad annullare l’ordine, perché i Cd non suoneranno mai come il vinile. il fatto che non siano completamente analogici, non deve essere un ostacolo all’acquisto di questa musica se l’operazione è stata fatta bene tecnicamente.
