Vabbè che ormai non mi interessa più cosa fanno ai cd o ai files hires perchè ascolto quasi solo vinili, però fa sempre un certo effetto vedere queste schifezze.

Anche qui ci sarebbe da chiedersi cosa stanno combinando... tra l'altro sono usciti i remaster di vari loro dischi degli inizi e sono tutti peggiorativi in DR eccetto "Retropolis" che si presenta così:

Sorge qualche dubbio sulla necessità di rimasterizzare un disco uscito nel 2000, e mi chiedo con quali motivazioni e aspettative lo facciano.

 

Sarebbe interessante sapere dai lettori di questo forum se nel caso di ristampe e rimasterizzazioni con perdita di DR loro preferiscano restare alla vecchia versione con DR più alto, oppure sono favorevoli ad una versione teoricamente migliorata per qualche aspetto dell'audio ma appunto che perde in DR, considerando quelle uscite che già originariamente erano carenti o appena al limite?

Su questo forum è possibile lanciare sondaggi? Se non lo è per quale motivo?

Avevo visto ma non ero sicuro, ogni tanto capitano altri dischi prossimi allo 0 ma non suonano così forte. Comunque si è evidente.

Si, va sempre tenuto presente che il volume alto non corrisponde sempre automaticamente ad un indizio di forte compressione, anche se nella maggiorparte dei casi è una correlazione. Quindi i valori DR e altre analisi più approfondite rimangono in ogni caso centrali nello stabilire il livello di compressione

Per mia ignoranza tecnica non riesco a capire bene questo passaggio. Vuol dire che in un caso simile se sento fatica di ascolto, un suono troppo pungente anche abbassando il volume significa che il mio impianto è limitato nella possibilità di espressione dinamica? E se si si può stabilire in quale sua parte?

In questo caso la causa è da ricercare altrove

A volume mediamente contenuto non c'è il rischio di incappare nella tosatura dei picchi [generabili da ampli + diffusore] per cui si dovrebbe indagare diversamente

Ad esempio potrebbe essere un problema di intersample peak [il famoso ISP]

La prima nella stragrande maggioranza dei casi. Posso arrivare a preferire la ristampa/rimasterizzazione con DR castrato solo per album che già all'origine erano disgraziati, mi viene in mente Street Legal di Bob Dylan. A pensarci bene forse è l'unico.

Ciao si grazie hai fatto bene a precisare, infatti esistono vari dischi di quegli anni che non brillano per DR, così ho ricontrollato quella che utilizzo, una rimasterizzazione ed edizione (deluxe) in Hi Res del 2014 che riporta questi valori, un pochino più alti e troppo più alti rispetto all'ultima uscita. Inoltre come puoi vedere sotto quella del 2014 è stata riallineata ad alcune già esistenti negli anni 80.

Mi pare che qui la situazione peggiori ad ogni remaster... 

 

A questo punto ci sarà da pensare a comprare un bel registratore digitale di livello pro tipo Tascam o meglio ancora Lynx Hilo (chi può...) e trasferire da vinile a digitale!
