@maabus Che mazzata! Disco intrigante nonostante siano cover (ma oggi si scrivono ancora brani epici?). Necessario il vinile che palle! Prima lo ascolto bene in formato streaming. Ma allora sono davvero sprovveduti perchè DR6 con tendenza al 5 è troppo anche per una cuffietta...

Settimana scorsa ho ascoltato il cd originale, il mofi, la nuova masterizzazione, il vinile di Grundman ed il vinile originale.

Non fatto confronti pseudoscientifici, ma solo switching tra le tracce cercando di livellare i volumi ed ascoltare un po' i dettagli e l'impatto sonoro a vari volumi di ascolto.

Sa il disco di Grundman che il mofi suonano bene. E' tutto definito.... ma per me si perde l'impatto dell'originale che preferisco di gran lunga sia nella versione cd che vinile. Tra i due, per ragioni affettive preferisco il cd.

Scusate, sono i 'miei' anni e quella roba deve suonare in un certo modo, ossia come suonava allora. Con Grundman non lo fa. Capisco però il fascino che ha.

Ciò detto, la nuova masterizzazione non suona male nel senso più stretto del termine.  Mi spiego trovo veramente fastidiosi i piatti della batteria, ma potrebbe essere una questione personale. A parte questo è la solita masterizzazione che va bene in sottofondo (perché ha corpo a qualsiasi volume) o ascolti in mobilità. Va tutto bene finché non si vuole alzare il volume.

Quindi non mi sorprende che per il 95% degli ascoltatori vada più che bene.

Il fatto è che questo forum è compreso per la maggior parte dall'altro 5 (come è giusto che sia)... 😄

Non è il primo album che ha la stessa masterizzazione del precedente, mi viene in mente Layla... dei Derek and the Dominos con la 50th anniversary stessa masterizzazione della 40th, anche quello mi ha convinto poco, insomma con una nuova anniversary ci si aspetta un nuovo remaster ma non è così.

È pur sempre un'album del 70 che non brilla certo per la sua qualità sonora, una certa compressione per ridare splendore a certi album del passato ci vuole.

Condivido 👍 diciamo che l'album non nasce o quantomeno non è stato pensato per avere un certo dettaglio sonoro, possiamo definirlo un punk rock? Ha le sue chitarre distorte, adrenalinico dall'inizio alla fine, musicalmente c'è poco respiro già di suo quindi per certi versi questa nuova masterizzazione porta principalmente più dettaglio ma per fare questo è stato livellato tutto allo stesso volume voce e stumenti e alla lunga si fa fatica ad ascoltare l'intero album.

Il livello di compressione pare accettabile, non c'è accanimento da loudness war, magari per Pawn Hearts (il mio preferito) qualcosa in più avrei gradito, ma alla fine basta che suonino bene e che non ci sia stupido appiattimento.

Io ho "H to He Who Am the Only One", "Pawn Hearts" e "Still Life" e per me si sentono molto bene, sia nel nuovo Mix che nel mix originale, non sono compressi come le edizioni 2005.

Eh però... secondo me non c'era da perdersi i DSD flat trasfer Giappo, usciti sia in SHM-SACD che in SHM-CD Platinum nel 2015. Per quanto mi riguarda, riversamenti definitivi.

Al netto dei numeri, secondo me, i riversamenti flat giapponesi sono difficilmente battibili, quantomeno per "naturalezza".

Senza nulla togliere al nuovo lavoro uscito da poco, che è più che buono.
